He lost his book, and it was not true.他丢了书但是这件事情不是真的。（it 指代前面他丢了书的这件事情）
The air in Guangzhou is better than that(=air) in Beijing.广州的空气比北京好。
The houses in Sydney are taller than those(=houses) in Melbourne.悉尼的楼比墨尔本的高。
Not both of them are bad. 并非他们两人都坏（只有一个坏）
Not all the students are lazy.并非所有学生皆懒惰（只有一些懒惰）
The+adj=主词
The rich are not happy sometimes. 有钱人有时候是不快乐的 。
The poor are happy. 穷人是快乐的。
不定词to+v=主词
To enter a good college has been my dream.进一所好大学一直是我的梦想。
To travel to Australia is my plan. 去澳洲旅行是我的计划
动名词Ving=主词
Smoking is not good for your health.吸烟对你的身体不好。
Collecting stamps is my hobby. 集邮是我的爱好。
Sleeping too much is not good. 睡觉太多不好。
名词片语=主词
How to learn English well troubles me. 如何把英语学好困扰这我。(名词片语是疑问词+to V 例如what to do/where to go, which to buy等）
名词子句=主词
That we learn English enables us to travel around the world by ourselves. 我们读英语可以使我们能够去自己环游世界。
Whoever steals the money will be punished.任何人偷钱都将受到惩罚。
What will be willbe.要发生的总会发生。
表距离之地方副词=主词
From Guangzhou to Melbourne takes 9 hours by air.从广州去墨尔本坐飞机要9个小时
假主词
It is fun to study English. (to study English 是真主词）学习英语是有趣的。
It is a good thing to check up now and then to be sure that we are not missing anything. (to check up...missing anything是真主词）有时候去检查以确定我们没有漏失什么是件好事情。
