O-Level写作:如何从词到句,实现语言的进步

  很多考生都存在一个认识上的误区:写作用词要酷炫,高级,最好考官都不认识!事实上,尽管我们不鼓励大家通篇都使用“小学生”词汇,但也完全无需一味追求词汇的高级。在O-Level写作上,大家与其追求词汇的“高级”,倒不如追求“词汇的”多变“。

  即写作对于“遣词”方面的要求主要有三个:恰当、有变化、有表现力

  大家可以品品以下这个段落中的同义词替换

  

  Certainly no creature in the sea isodderthan the common sea cucumber. All living creatures, especially human beings, have theirpeculiarities, but everything about the little sea cucumber seemsunusual.   插入语、平行结构、让步转折、倒装句、强调句、被动句

  Secondly, the quality of the presentation will be better ensured by taking a prompt action. (分论点直接证明立场)

  For one thing,working on the task right away provides students with more time to prepare for the presentation.

  (分论点下第一个原因的抽象表述,后用for instance,加入具体描述)

  For instance,with more sufficient time,students are more able to look forabundantresources and references in the libraryso that the content of the presentation can be enriched.

  (前后都加了状语,一方面延长句子;一方面让句子表述更完整;最重要的,扣题——质量更好)

  Also,encountering some obstacles,we can talk to tutors or friends about the outline and draftsto find the solution and ensure the reasonable organization of the presentation.

  For another thing,an early start usually indicates an early end, which allows for a double check of what we have done.

  Some defects and drawbacks about the presentationwill be noticed and get correctedin time, contributing to a perfect presentation.

  To start with, teachers with a high popularity among students usually win that popularity with their academic professionalism, which, to be interpreted in simple terms, means effective in imparting knowledge.

  (非限定性定语从句+插入语的灵活使用)

  Naturally, a teacherwho displays expertisein class and effectivelyclears students’ confusions and problemswill undoubtedlyclaimstudents’ admiration and acceptance.

  (定语从句)

  True, there are other characteristics that students maysee as a plustothe teacher’s classroom performance, such as good looks or charming voices.

  However, it is hard to imagine that a teacher, with all the likable traits, will gain much acceptance if he could barely explain his field of study effectively in class.

  (主语从句/it形式主语+插入语的使用)

  As a result, it is plausible that well liked teachers are usually those who are effective in helping students’ study.
