新加坡南侨小学位于新加坡东北部的盛港新镇 。 它始建于1947年， 第二次世界大战后的2年后。由于学生人口的增加，于1969年学校在金炎路重建。 于1984年，它被命名为南侨中学。 2001年，学校搬到盛港新镇开始分为南侨中学和南侨小学两个独立的学校。2012年，室内体育场馆落成。
1947年：成立南侨女中
1969年：学校被重建，以满足日益增加的学生人数。
1979年：学校的小学部和中学部共用运营。
1980年：学校采用英语为主要教学语言。
1984年：学校成为男女同校，并更名为南侨中学。
1997年：学校庆祝其成立50周年。
2001年：南侨中学和南侨小学，成为分开经营的两所学校，迁至盛港新镇。

如果准备低龄留学新加坡，入读新加坡政府中小学，就需要通过AEIS考试。AEIS由新加坡教育部专为有意申请就读新加坡政府中、小学的国际学生统一组织、安排的入学考试，考试时间为每年9月或10月。
